Description
Site used as an electrical transformer reclamation center and heavy equipment maintenance facility. The site is presently abandoned property owned by the Fairbanks North Star Borough as a result of property tax foreclosure.

Public Health and Environmental Concerns
Petroleum soil contamination and chlorinated solvent groundwater contamination have been documented on site. To date there is no indication that there is a significant chlorinated solvent source area on site, however it can not be conclusively ruled out. Over 100 drums of hazardous substances removed from site in 1998.

Current Status
Additional site investigation is contingent on information from the annual sampling of additional groundwater monitoring wells installed since 2001.

State led cleanup is contingent on available state funds.
