2012 Seafood Processing Waste Permitting & Compliance Workshops
Summary
The Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) hosted two workshops in early 2012, one in Anchorage, Alaska and one in Seattle, Washington, for operators of seafood processing facilities that operate in Alaska or in Alaskan coastal waters regulated under the DEC Alaska Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (APDES) permit program.
Purpose
The workshops:
- Provided information on new APDES permitting requirements for the Seafood Sector in Alaska,
- Provided compliance assistance, and
- Answered questions regarding seafood processing waste permits, including three general permits.
